Mass amount of products are being shipped in right now in preparation for Christmas. From toys to clothes, more waste is being added to landfills.
After factory farming and oil, the clothing and textile industry is the largest polluter in the world.
The volume of clothing Americans throw away each year has doubled in the last 20 years from 7million to 14 million tons.
Textiles can take up to 200+ years to decompose in landfills. During the decomposition process, textiles generate greenhouse methane gas, and leach toxic chemical and dyes into groundwater and soil.
A lot of companies GREEN WASH : pretend to create product environmentally consciously.
Examples : shein, H&M, starbucks, zara, coca-cola, volkswagon, tesla & so much more.
AVOID stores like: Forever 21, top shop, Victoria's Secret, urban outfitters, almost anything on Amazon are all fast fashion.

My personal fav is to go into my boyfriend's, dad's, friend's closets and find clothes they're not wearing and make it my own! This flannel is my boyfriends, jeans are my dad's, socks are my moms!
I'll be adding more and more people and places to check out! The best way to determine whether a shop is fast fashion, ethical and/or sustainable is to look for concrete data on programs and initiatives. Review their website and fabrics of clothing. Learn about what degrades quicker, what materials and processes cause more greenhouse gasses in production and decomposition?
Remember to shop creators, shop entrepreneurs, shop boutiques!
