This past weekend we rented an air bnb in the middle of nowhere! We began preparations a bit late and had to pick up snacks at the grocery store - Whole Foods. This is to help YOU, when you are choosing your snacks and may be short on time - how to select, vegan, low waste snacks!
I work hard to make my own snacks and favorite small goodies. Which, if you haven't tried already. start making your own snacks! This has saved me over 67% of my money typically spent at stores. I mindlessly spent SO much money on snacks and "in the now" feelings of wanting a bite! When I had the desire to reduce my purchases of things that weren't in recyclable containers (or packaged at all - most of what we throw in our recycle rarely ever gets actually recycled).  However, sometimes we don't plan well enough or just want to grab some easy things from the store. Here's some of our favorites from the store and here's how to recycle them...

Terra chips are my favorite! I also love Late July chips and Harvest Snaps - both of which are recyclable with Terracycle.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You apply for a label. While waiting, you save all your cleaned (rinse it out, get rid of oils and crumbs, let it dry) packages in a paper bag. When you receive an email saying you can print out your label you can send alll your packages in! FOR FREE.
While Little Secrets M&M's are my favorite, the package is not recyclable through Terracycle. However, if you have kids, dogs or are in constant need of plastic bags - these can work for you! I repurpose these bags for my dogs treats or little snacks I want to bring with me places. I haven't bought plastic bags in over 2 years and THIS is why!

*I do the same thing with vegan gummy bears.
And now, for my favorite recipe of the weekend... hummus!
Bulk preparing things like hummus whether your traveling or just at home makes it easier to stay on track and reduces the amount of time you spend making a meal
We took a big bowl of this hummus with us and made wraps for lunch every single day.

Wraps:
organic flour tortilla, hummus, alfalfa sprouts, mixed greens, apple (YES APPLE!) cucumber and chips!
